Having carried out a successful major flooring project during 2018 for this well-known drinks and beverages manufacturer in their Blending Room, we were invited back to their prestigious purpose-built facility to discuss the flooring issues they were experiencing in the Production Hall. They asked Surface Systems Limited to provide a long-term solution to their needs and as a respected flooring installer, with over thirty years of experience in this field, we eagerly obliged. The main concerns, apart from cracking on the joint areas and minor surface damage, was the absence of slip resistance, especially around machine areas where high wear points were evident. There was also the problem of slip resistance where waste from the production process was evident on the floor. Our technical team attended site and held meetings with the client providing a suitable specification for a highly slip-resistant and hygienic surface to be installed.
The first four days were spent carefully stripping out the existing floor and preparing the concrete surface to receive the resin finish. Our team of highly experienced floor layers were then able to apply the resin floor in accordance with the technical specification. Our professional team worked long hours starting early in the morning and finishing late in the afternoons to ensure that the project was completed on time and within budget. Being very aware of the pressure on our specialist floor laying team we arranged for accommodation in the local area to reduce the amount of travelling time to and from the workplace. Another key consideration was the considerable cost incurred by our client for each day they couldn’t access the facility for production purposes so they were hugely appreciative of the significant efforts made to turn the work around in the shortest time possible. The job was finished ahead of time and within budget much to the client’s delight.
