This is a common problem for many of our clients. We have a list of engineered resin flooring solutions that we know from our experience will mitigate water-pooling issues in most environments, particularly where water exposure is frequent.
Creating falls in a floor and installing suitable or additional drainage will solve most pooling issues. We are able to design stainless steel drainage solutions and configure these to your business requirements, taking into account configuration depths, flow rates and gratings.
Falls in floors are formed using a polymer modified screed, manufactured and installed on site. Once the screed has cured (3-5 days), the finished floor solution is applied. Coving can be added to give a seamless finish.
- Kitchens, food and drinks manufacturing and production areas.
In very wet environments the best solution will be a polyurethane screed. This is the toughest floor and extremely hard wearing, highly resistant to water, and can withstand thermal shock, making it a great solution for areas with temperature fluctuations. It can be cleaned to the same standard as stainless steel.
- Showers and changing rooms
Here, a more decorative epoxy-based screed system is used, such as Altro Screed 4.5mm which exhibits high levels of slip resistance for bare feet.
- Chemical bunded areas
Falls are important to ensure the chemicals are draining into collection sumps and not pooling in one area. A highly chemical resistant coating is used.
